Adult Ed: Climate Change & Racial Justice

On Sun., Oct 20, join Rebecca Herst from the Sustainable Solutions Lab at UMass Boston for her talk “Exploring the Disproportionate Impacts of Climate Change on Historically Marginalized Communities and What We Can Do About It.” A former community organizer focusing on economic and racial justice issues, Rebecca became interested in climate adaptation when she realized how disproportionately climate change will impact low-income communities and communities of color.

Before coming to UMass Boston, Rebecca worked at Boston Harbor Now, Harvard University’s Office for Sustainability, and the Urban Land Institute on various climate resilience projects. She has a BA from Carleton College and an MBA from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.
