New Models of Episcopal Evangelism Series: "Small Church as a Laboratory for Experimentation" presented by the Rev. Malia Crawford and the Church of Our Saviour in Arlington, MA.
The other day, I was meeting with people helping to organize a diocesan group to march in Boston Pride June 14. After brainstorming possible slogans for a t-shirt, we decided to print “God’s got your back” on the back of the shirts.
The other day I saw a car whose bumper sticker said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” I wonder what that bumper sticker meant to the car owner, and what they hoped it would accomplish.
“Deep Sky follows the high-stakes global mission to build JWST and launch it into orbit one million miles from Earth, in an attempt to answer questions that have haunted us since the beginning of time. Where did we come from? How did the universe begin? Are we alone?” … While this project was clearly scientific, the ultimate purpose behind it struck me as theological.
Every year, on the last Sunday before Advent, we mark the Feast of Christ the King. The celebration feels anachronistic and bizarre in a country that eschewed monarchy. This year, though, I find it a source of comfort and strength.

The Rodgers 32-B electronic organ that has served us for 60 years has come to the end of its life. I have always thought of the Rodgers organ as a marvel of postwar electronic technology, and in the process of taking it apart, my appreciation has grown.
