Teen and Adult Classes to Grow Deeper as a Christian (or prepare for Confirmation)
Some of us had the experience of being taken to church when we were little. Others of us did not. Either way, at some point, we ask ourselves, “In a culture where being religious is a choice, do I want to follow the way of Jesus?” Do I want to make meaning of my life by wrestling with the Biblical stories? Does being part of a Christian community help me live out my values?
In the coming year, we will offer classes for people who want to wrestle with questions like these. Those who finish this class can decide whether they would like to have the bishop confirm them or (for those confirmed as Catholics) receive them into the Episcopal Church. It is fine to take the class if you are just curious, whether or not you are interested in taking this step. We are also hoping that longtime Christians will participate.
There will be one class for adults and another class for teens. Teens who are at least 12 years old now are welcome to start classes. (The expectation in our diocese is that youth be at least 13 years old before getting confirmed.)
Teen Classes will be held at 11:15 am on the following Sundays:
Oct. 26 (Note: this is the 4th Sunday of October, to avoid conflicts with Indigenous People’s Day)
Nov. 9 (This and all following classes fall on the 2nd Sunday of the month)
