Video: Small Church as a Laboratory for Experimentation
New Models of Episcopal Evangelism Series: "Small Church as a Laboratory for Experimentation" presented via Zoom on March 26, 2025, by the Rev. Malia Crawford and the Church of Our Saviour in Arlington, MA.
The Church of Our Saviour in Arlington is small, with a sanctuary that seats fewer than a hundred people. But they’ve discovered that their small size enables them to experiment and offer custom-tailored ministry in ways that would be difficult if they were large. Come and hear about how they began a Eucharist tailored to the needs of toddlers and their families, which has now grown into a youth group that can support tweens and teens with different needs and gifts.
This video recording is one in a series of monthly presentations, sponsored by the Evangelism Working Group of Diocesan Council, that celebrate creative examples of evangelism happening in the congregations and worshiping communities of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. These ministries are “real, not ideal,” and are shared to inspire, encourage and connect the people of God in our collaborative work of evangelism.
