Facing the Hatred

In the wake of Charlottesville, several trainings in nonviolent resistance are being held in the Boston area. Note that Non-Violent Direct Action Training (NVDA) includes a legal rights portion, while comprehensive training covers NVDA, legal rights, and MEDIC.

The faith community has also organized events around Saturday’s peace march:

Fri., Aug. 18, Temple Israel of Boston, 477 Longwood Ave., Boston.

At 5. p.m. the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization’s “Interfaith Gathering of Unity, Love and Strength”

At 6 p.m., Temple Israel’s “Sabbath of Love and Light,” an interfaith Shabbat devoted to justice, compassion, and human dignity and to countering messages of hatred.

Sat., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 138 Tremont St., Boston. Ongoing peace vigil and noon Eucharist in the nave. Sproat Hall will be available for hospitality and peaceful conversations throughout.
