Learn How We Christians Can Support Muslim Neighbors

This year, we wanted to do something to support our Muslim neighbors and friends amidst all the hatred we heard in the news. Our vestry donated to the Massachusetts Chapter of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a chapter of America’s largest Muslim civil rights organization.

John Robbins, the Executive Director of the MA chapter of CAIR, let us know personally that he was so moved to know they have our support. He is grateful to know that during these difficult times of bigotry and hatred that the Christian community is reaching out and offering this gesture. It reminded him of the story when Noah sent out the dove. When the dove brought back an olive branch, Noah knew there was dry land.

COS’s support is out olive branch helping us know there is dry land out there. It helps us know there are pots of refuge in these difficult and tumultuous times. This means so much to me and all the Muslim community.

— John Robbins

John Robbins will come to Church of Our Saviour on Sun, Feb. 7, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. to help us learn more about his organization and how Christian communities can be good neighbors to our Muslim brothers and sisters.
