Feed the Hungry Arlington Children

There is a huge nationwide hunger issue for children during the summer months, when 14% of children no longer have access to free or low-cost breakfasts and/or lunches in school. Arlington is no exception, and many children need help with summer lunches. Arlington EATS (Eat All Through Summer), initiated by several Arlington churches, is working to help meet the need. Church of Our Saviour is part of this interfaith collaboration. At the recent Feast of the East in Arlington, over $5,000 was raised.

An anonymous donor has generously offered to match donations up to $5,000 made through COS to help feed hungry children during school-year and summer vacations. A team of three, Kelly Sullivan, Michele Mouradian, and Susan Dowds, is spearheading the effort. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, write a check to COS, noting Thompson Family Fund on the memo line. Thompson School is the area’s focal point for these initiatives. Your gift will be matched by the donor, thus doubling the amount. Let’s rise to the challenge and bring our donations up to the $5,000 level!
